Concert at Auditorium Shores in Austin. The theme was Back to the Armadillo in remembrance of the Armadillo World Headquarters beer hall/slash music venue of the 1970s. A lot of rising music stars (Michael Murphy, Janis Joplin, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Frank Zappa) played there and the hippies and cowboys all got along. Beer, marijuana, and cigarette smoke filled the room back then. At this venue, no smoking anything, but plenty of beer flowing. Eddie Wilson was the owner of the Armadillo WH back then and just published his memoirs. Sam bought a copy and got a photo with Eddie. Regretfully I was stuck with only the iphone camera.

Headliner: John Fogerty

John changed guitars throughout the show. I
thought this one was particularly beautiful

How is it the drummer always seems
like the hardest working musician
on stage.
The hotels in Austin tend to decorate with musical themes.
