CHIRICAHUA NATIONAL MONUMENT



Native land of the Chiricahua Apaches until relocation by Buffalo Soldiers. The Faraway Ranch is located here and the owners sought to have this area become a national park. The effort continues today.



An eight mile road built by the CCC leads to the highest point for a commanding view of hoodoos,
rock formations and cute redheads. Some see the Apache leader Cochise in the formation below:
