Burnet is about a 30 minute drive from Lampasas. The Ft. Groghan museum is really good for such a small town. If you have ancestors in this area they have quite a collection of probate records in the back room. The grounds are large and show a lot of work to educate visitors about life in the early frontier days of this era.
