A bit of swimming at Inks Lake State Park and a drive thru of Canyon of the Eagles

We went in search of The Devil's Hole for a swim at Inks Lake State Park. Unfortunately it turned out to be surrounded with very slimy rocks (thus the name) so we headed back to safer territory. Getting old is hell.
We stumbled into Canyon of the Eagles when we were trying to take a back road to cut off some distance on our trip. It seems the private land owners beside this "resort" decided to close off the back road. They let us drive through. They facilities are nice, and about half way around I remembered why the name was familiar. This is the place the T.A.L.L. Texans meet every year as does P.L.A.N.T. I just didn't go to PLANT and when I went to TALL Texans they were meeting at a different place. There are some campsites but no running water. Apparently they had a feral hog problem - so their pipes got destroyed.

We have so many beautiful drives in this area.
Submerged slippery rocks.

Too many rocks for safe ingress/egress.

Checking out the territory.
