Left Pagosa Springs and headed to Durango, CO today. Before getting far we stopped to climb Chimney Rock. Not a long climb but a strenuous one. We got a bit wet as a storm moved in, but we waited it out under shelter and finished the tour. There is evidence of two different settlements of people who lived here - one in the lower areas and one at the very top of the mountain. There is a pair of nesting peregrine falcons on Chimney Rock, but we did not catch sight of them.
