Today started out with lots of work, but by 1:00 we were hitting lake trail for a 2.5 mile hike all the way around the beautiful Lake Daingerfield. It used to be named Little Pine Lake so the sundries/gifts shop here is still called Little Pine Store. The weather was amazing - having a cool stretch at the end of May is unexpected and very welcome. The Park was busy - a couple of vans from a nursing home brought some folks (complete with wheelchairs) for a lakeside lunch. High schoolers has finished graduation practice and came out with some teachers a cookout and a game of slip-n-slide softball. The bases were kiddie pools and you have to slide into the base. A number of families enjoying picnics and water time.

Sam had the camera today.

An original surveyors monument for the dam.

That's the back of our cabin way at the top of the hill. Shot from
the lake hiking trail.

The original entrance.
Another monument. Elevation Certificate issued. :-)
