April 16, 2017 Blessed Easter

After a hearty breakfast we dropped in at the First United Methodist Church of Hamilton for Easter Service. A small congregation with only a 7 person choir, who aren't going to any music competitions, but whose heart was in the right place. Their pastor was out very sick so the District Superintendent filled in. She played the role of Mary Magdalene on Resurrection Sunday at the tomb, from Luke's account. We shared communion, then as we pulled out of the parking lot a pile of kids were rushing toward the easter eggs.
About 10 miles outside of Hamilton is the Red Wing Dove Vineyards and Tasting Room. We had learned they were having brunch followed by adults egg hunt and reserved ourselves a couple of spots. We met friendly people from the moment we got out of the van. About 30 of us struck up conversations during the light, but tasty, brunch with one of their wines. We all moved out onto the patio where we sat with a Lance and his wife (cannot remember her name) from Richardson and Mike and Bonnie, Hamilton locals. All the women and some of the men worked their way through part of the vineyards to find the eggs. We stayed for a long time enjoying the company of these two couples and the owner of the vineyard.
After this it was still on 3:30 and we decided we weren't fond enough of Amwell House, and Hamilton, to stay another night, so we packed up and drove home.

Me and my stash. That's Mike on my left.

Susan (standing by me) is the Tasting Room owner.

Bonnie (married to Mike) on the left and Lance's wife on the right.

The Vineyards are well cared for.

Amwell Guest House. The front door opens into a sitting area
which leads to a small breakfast nook, then on to the kitchen
area. That's all one continuous room. The other side of the house
is a bedroom on front, one on back, and a full bath off the hall
in between.
