The charming mountain town of Ruidoso, NM

Ruidoso is about 3 hours away into the Sacramento Mountains. Gambling is prevalent, but we don't so there's also some hiking trails, concerts and shows, and shopping. There were bad floods last summer and they are still recovering.
The Inn of the Mountain Gods is owned by the Mescalero Apache tribe. It's a beautiful place with a large gambling room, a fine dining restaurant and casual dining bar/cafe. Their private lake offers fishing, ziplining, batting ages, peddle boats, hiking, and just beautiful scenery.
