Sweetwater, TX and National Women's Airforce Service Pilots Museum

This is an amazing place that EVERYONE should visit. Without these women the WWII planes never would have gotten to the war pilots. They opened doors for the women in combat and space program.
More than 25,000 applied and just more than 1,000 were accepted. 38 women lost their lives in service to their country. The remainder were just unceremoniously displaced and sent home in 1944 when the women were no longer needed.

Then there was lunch at the historic Hotel Settles in Sweetwater.
