Hawaii - Part I

Waikiki is the place most people think of when 
they think of Hawaii. 

White sandy beach, 

Current not too strong,

and lots of shopping. 

Beautiful hotels. This is the Moana Hotel.
First opened March 11, 1901. Referred to as 
the First Lady of Waikiki. 

Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalaniana'ole
1871-1922. A prince of the Kingdom
of Hawaii until is what overthrown by
American and European businessmen
in 1893. Served in Congress 1903-1923

This Education Center is still underdevelopment, 
according to their website. They plan to tell the story
of the Lepers of Molokai. The Center is named for
the priest and nun who worked tirelessly to help the sick.

Off for a little fun on mopeds.

A time capsule was buried here Oct. 24, 1999 as part of the Millennium Young People's Congress.
