Cuero, TX

Palmetto SP is just outside Cuero, TX. While here we visited the Chisolm Trail Museum.


This is on the front of the building which
houses the Chisolm Trail Museum.






The Cracker was the "cowboy" from The British Isles.
They inhabited South Carolina to Florida and cracked
a whip over his cattle. The Vaquero, in Mexico,
worked cattle from horseback using a lasso and special knife. 

Leather and horn wine canteen. 

These are bombillas. They are a straw used to drink mate'
from a cup. Mate' is a strong tea made from the leaves of
the holly tree.
