San Antonio Fiesta 2018 Kick Off at Hemisfair Park

Fiesta is always fun, but this is the 300th anniversary year of San Antonio so it's extra special. We started with the kickoff event at Hemisfair Park.
The tradition is pin selling and trading. These pins are not like the small ones traded during the Olympic Games, these are more military medal styles. Most of the organizations/businesses in town have a new pin each year that is sold for the month of April, and particularly during the festival itself. People pride themselves in collecting and wearing them for Fiesta events. Another tradition is making an eye catching hat, or some other outfit that says "please take my picture."

My favorite party animal.

Interesting cultural dances take place.

I really want a taco hat.

Dancing with a cow.

Air Force Band. They are good.

Try walking with a Tower of America on your head.
