Nacogdoches, TX

Bit of a yucky weather the day when we were here so we did not get to see as much as we wanted to, but certainly enjoyed our visit as part of our travels along the El Camino Real.


Antonio Gil y Barbo, born in 1729 in Los Adaes (see
other blog post) Lieutenant Governor of the Puebla Nuestro
SeƱora del Pilar de Nacogdoches, Captain of Militia,
Chief Justice, Judge of Contraband Seizures, Indian Agent
for the Spanish Crown. (nothing like holding all the powrer)
Founded Spanish Nacogdoches in 1779. 




Inside the visitor center in downtown Nacogdoches.

Shuttle explosion happened in this area. Many parts
of the shuttle were found over the next year.
