The Caddo Mounds are located in Alto, TX. Caddo Indians were some of the Tejas (friendly) indians in East, TX along the El Camino Real. There is a visitor center that I did not really deem photo worthy, but did find informative. It is believed these people began settling here about AD 700. Three mounds have been discovered. Two were for ceremonial rituals and one
is a burial mound. The circular hut is a recreation, of course. You can learn more about this historic site here.
