Took the route through Fredricksburg home from LBJ Parks and stopped at the new Texas Ranger Heritage Center. So far it is just a pavilion but has plans to grow. The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum in Waco is owned by the City of Waco. This new facility is owned by the Texas Rangers. I met Ranger Joaquin Jackson and read his book some years ago and mentioned that to Reeva at the gift shop. She knew him and his wife well. Joaquin was 6'7" and darned handsome in his ranger "uniform". He wore jeans, chaps, a cowboy hat, and carried a long rifle.  He died of an inoperable brain tumor last year.
Fort Martin Scott buildings are re-creations of the original buildings, but it was located on this site. One of the early frontier forts.

The 5 characters of a Ranger: courage, determination,
dedication, integrity, respect.

The large building will be built behind this clock tower.

Located along the San Saba River the Pinta trail was
used by American Indians, Frontiersmen, and
and later settlers of west Texas.
